P1 AquaX

AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to today’s personal watercraft users.

This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

The Yamaha EX/EXR Cup Cup got underway in La Seyne-sur-Mer on the Mediterranean coast at the weekend as part of a feature event within the P1 watercraft racing championship.

The EX/EXR Cup is aimed at attracting Yamaha EX or EXR owners to try their hand at competitive racing with the help and support of an on-site Yamaha support team.

One of the competitors was novice racer Elliot Cable from Leeds in the UK, who purchased his new EXR from a local dealer several weeks before the event. “I heard about the EX/EXR Cup and was interested in the concept. What attracted me first was the fact that I could buy the ski and go racing without the need to spend more on expensive modifications” explained Elliot. “So it was the Cup that encouraged me to race”.

Elliot’s first outing on his EXR landed him the fourth fastest time in qualifying and a place in the JX4 A-final against far more experience riders. He also took home the first EX/EXR Cup for being the top Yamaha EXR rider for the weekend.

“I still have a lot to learn but the EXR is awesome - it’s really quick, cuts through the water and tracks really well” added Elliot. “I’ve really enjoyed the experience and I’m delighted to win the first Cup of the season. The support from Yamaha makes it much easier to compete and I’ll certainly be competing for the Cup again”.

The next event will take place on the Moselle River in Basse-Ham in north eastern France this weekend at the second round of the P1 Jetcross Championships. For more information about the Jetcross event in Basse Ham. visit P1 Jetcross.com
