AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to todays personal watercraft users.
This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

The series, organised by leading marine motorsport promoter, Powerboat P1, kicked off April 21-22 in Miami. And as part of Kawasaki’s support, the brand has supplied two 2018 Kawasaki STX®-15F Jet Skis® for use by event marshals. The power these PWCs offer make light work of managing safety and effectively marshalling races.
Speaking of Kawasaki’s decision to support P1 AquaX once again, PWC Development Manager, Joe Heim said:
“P1 AquaX provides not only a fantastic showcase for our leading PWCs but are also a great way to take PWC racing to new audiences. At Kawasaki we are committed to building PWCs that exceed rider’s expectation; delivering on power, performance and agility when they need it most”.
Many riders in the P1 AquaX series choose the popular Kawasaki craft to take them to victory. One such racer is USA Pro-rider, David Cabrera, who rides for reigning AquaX Enduro champions, Broward Motorsports/Dean’s Team. This year he will hit the water on a brand-new Kawasaki SX-R®1500. Boasting an exceptional riding experience, David will be hoping the combination of his riding skills and the power the SX-R®1500 brings will see him secure a place on the podium.
In Europe, it was a Kawasaki rider who took the 2017 title as Pro Enduro racer, Joseph Harvey was crowned P1 AquaX European Champion. He fought off fierce competition last year and will hope to do the same in 2018 supported by new sponsor, Experience Kissimmee.
A test of a rider’s handling skills, concentration and nerve, P1 AquaX races are fast-paced and dynamic, seeing riders hit speeds in excess of 80mph (128km/h) as they battle it out on the water.
CEO at Powerboat P1, the global rights holder for P1 AquaX, Azam Rangoonwala said:
“Kawasaki have been a great supporter of P1 AquaX events and we are delighted that this support is continuing for the 2018 season. With a high-caliber mix of competitors sent to take to the water, we are sure that this is going to make for yet another adrenaline-charged season.”
