P1 AquaX

AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to today’s personal watercraft users.

This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

Gorie takes opening day win in Amateur Internationals

David Gorie continued his fine form on the AquaX Tour to take the only race victory on day one at the Amateur Internationals in Key West.

Stormy conditions in the morning and long marine wildlife holds meant only one race could be run as both Pros and Ams ran together before light faded on Smathers Beach.

Gorie wasn’t the quickest out of the blocks as Peru’s Enrique Chia took the holeshot but Gorie quickly realed in both Chia and Yaniel Fiallo to take the advantage heading into Sunday’s racing.

Fiallo had to settle for second, whilst Jason Lester put in his best performance of the season to take a third place finish.

Sophie Francis recovered from a slow start to finish a very handy fourth, ahead of Canadian Dave Davidson and Florida Series champ Cody Tetreault.

One of the favourites heading into this weekend was Carlito Del Valle, but he could only manage eighth place behind Justin Taylor and will need to take two wins on Sunday to have hopes of being crowned champion.

In the 250 class, Kevin Sullivan got the better of Christian Daly who seemed to struggle with a mechanical issue, whilst Eric Diaz beat Jose Luis Gonzalez and Carl Lofthouse in the 200 class.
