AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to todays personal watercraft users.
This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

As the No. 1 boat insurer in the country covering over 1.8 million watercraft, it’s important for us to make sure people are not only insured on the water, but are also protected with the proper safety equipment. Collaborating with Powerboat P1 on these initiatives speaks to our shared goal of growing the sport and the boating community, while promoting on-water safety.

Powerboat P1 and Progressive Insurance announced today a new agreement that will see Progressive become the official insurance sponsor to Powerboat P1 USA and sponsor the marine motorsport promoter’s safety teams. The two-year deal includes naming rights to P1’s safety teams at its Offshore powerboat racing events and AquaX jet ski national championship in the United States, with the creation of the Progressive Safety Team.
The Progressive logo will feature exclusively on safety team uniforms and skis, the rescue helicopter and other safety equipment. Exclusive branding will also include naming rights, with priority banners and signage, to the wet pits and launching area, to be named the Progressive Launching Zone. Other key sponsorship benefits will be exposure on the P1 websites, through national television coverage of P1 race action on the FanDuel Sports Network and MAVTV, and as part of P1’s public relations and social media activity.
Founded in 1937, Progressive provides insurance for personal and commercial autos and trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreational vehicles and homes. It is the second-largest personal auto insurer in the United States, a leading seller of boat, motorcycle and commercial auto insurance, and one of the top homeowners insurance carriers.
“As the No. 1 boat insurer in the country covering over 1.8 million watercraft, it’s important for us to make sure people are not only insured on the water, but are also protected with the proper safety equipment,” said Eric Doubler, Progressive Recreational Lines Direct Business Leader. “Collaborating with Powerboat P1 on these initiatives speaks to our shared goal of growing the sport and the boating community, while promoting on-water safety.”

Strategic sponsorships are at the heart of our business and unveiling this new relationship with Progressive Insurance is a great way to start the year. On a race weekend nothing is more important than safety, and we have created a safety ethos in the company and the events which shows itself in our beliefs, planning and behavior. Comprising experienced, highly trained and qualified marshals, the safety team plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our competitors, officials and spectators. Their expertise is the backbone of our operations, encompassing on-water rescue, medical support and racecourse oversight. This new sponsorship reflects our shared commitment to safety, professionalism and innovation in marine motorsport, and Progressive’s support will allow us to further enhance the resources and capabilities of our safety operations.
