AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to todays personal watercraft users.
This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

“
I’m delighted to continue my involvement with P1 AquaX racing by taking on this role. I’ve travelled the world to compete and started doing tech at the JSRA about five years ago. Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and, If necessary, I will make recommendations to improve risk management procedures at race venues, events and to safety equipment and watercraft approved by AquaX.
Adrian Wilson
P1 AquaX USA, Technical Director
”
As it prepares to celebrate its tenth anniversary in the United States, and having announced a number of important changes to its Rulebook for the upcoming race season, P1 AquaX has appointed a new technical director for the U.S. series. Adrian Wilson, a former AquaX competitor in the United Kingdom who performs this role for the Jetsport Racing Association of Great Britain (JSRA) and at the World Cup in Thailand last year, will take up this position immediately.
Wilson will conduct and oversee scrutineering at AquaX USA race events to ensure that all competitors are racing within the AquaX Rulebook. His primary aim will be to ensure that teams and riders work to the safe standards during race weekends and to provide leadership to the technical team.
“I’m delighted to continue my involvement with P1 AquaX racing by taking on this role,” commented Wilson. “I’ve travelled the world to compete and started doing tech at the JSRA about five years ago. Safety is everyone’s responsibility and, If necessary, I will make recommendations to improve risk management procedures at race venues, events and to safety equipment and watercraft approved by AquaX.”
P1 AquaX recently announced changes to its Rulebook for the 2023 USA season because last year there many watercraft at the top end that broke down as a result of being so highly tuned and this was deterring any new racers from joining the National Championship. The cost of repairs was daunting. Consequently, the rules have been updated to slow down the watercraft and lower the RPMs to prevent so much repair work being needed between races. In addition, the need for a stock prop has been reintroduced in the Pro class, resulting in the AM 300 and the Pro Enduro class rules now being in line with each other.
The five-venue AquaX National Championship will feature both Pro and Am Enduro racing with events in Florida and Indiana. The series will kick off in early July in Michigan City, about 50 miles east of Chicago, where both categories of racers will be in action on Lake Michigan.
AquaX will be announcing further details of its race season later this month, including television coverage and sponsorship agreements.
