AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to todays personal watercraft users.
This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (APRIL 2021) International marine motorsport promoter Powerboat P1 announced plans to host the St. Pete Powerboat Grand Prix in downtown St. Petersburg, FL on Labor Day weekend Sept. 4-5. Personal watercraft and powerboat race teams from across the United States will compete in multiple classes of racing during the race weekend.
“We began discussions for a national race event featuring a double bill of P1 powerboat racing and AquaX jet ski action in 2015, with plans to stage the two-day event near the iconic St. Pete pier,” said P1 CEO Azam Rangoonwala. “AquaX includes both professional and amateur classes of racing, which attracts riders from across the country. September’s event is part of the eight-venue APBA national race series which runs from May to October.”
Visit St. Pete/Clearwater is the presenting sponsor of the event. A custom designed “Visit St. Pete/Clearwater” Jet Ski will be ridden by AquaX racer Tory Snyder in the Pro Enduro category this season.
“I’m excited and honored to represent VSPC for the 2021 season. It has been a dream come true to get a sponsor like Visit St. Pete/Clearwater ” said 18 year old Tory Snyder, from Bradenton, Florida. “ I am very lucky to have been born and raised in South West Florida. I grew up in paradise on the beaches where I can jet ski all year round. Since I was 5 years old I have traveled every year all over the country to different beaches and lakes to watch my dad race. St Pete/ Clearwater beaches are one of the best beaches in the world”.
“We are thrilled to bring P1 Offshore and P1 AquaX racing to the St. Pete Pier for the Labor Day weekend. We’re extremely pleased with the partnership with Powerboat P1 over the past several years and look forward to building the St. Pete race weekend as a signature event for community,” said Visit St. Pete/Clearwater
COO Tim Ramsberger.
