P1 AquaX

AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to today’s personal watercraft users.

This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

Yamaha EX/EXR CUP TORQUAY ROUND UP

Nick Brockbanks wins the Torquay Cup

Date: 13th -14th June 2019

After back to back rounds in Belgium, the Yamaha EX/EXR Cup moved across the Channel to the popular resort of Torquay on the English Riviera to join the P1AquaX UK Championship at its second event of the season.
The EX/EXR CUP featured within the Sprint SE class, which is a new initiative between Yamaha Europe and P1 AquaX aimed at attracting Yamaha EX and EXR owners to try their hand at competitive racing. Entry is free and the EX/EXR owner with the most points at the end of the weekend takes home the Cup and Yamaha prizes.

So far this season Britain’s Elliot Cable has won every Cup on the circuit and he had high hopes of lifting the Torquay Cup too, but local EXR racer Nick Brockbanks had other ideas. Brockbanks, in his first Cup event went on to win 3 of the 4 races, and with it the overall for the weekend. “It was a great weekend, I love the EXR and the CUP is a cost effective way to get into racing” said Nick. “It’s a fun craft to ride and race and I can’t wait for the next event.” Cable finished in second place with the consolation of winning the final race of the weekend. Harry Robinson took third on his Experience Kissimmee sponsored EXR.

“The EXR is a new model and this competition offers owners an inexpensive route into racing” explained Lisa Barsby, Head of AquaX – Global. “The Cup is really starting to pick up momentum and it was good to see the number of entries increasing”.

The 2019 Cup competition kicked off in early May and includes a total of eight P1 AquaX and Jetcross race weekends in France, Belgium, Spain and England through to October.

The next Yamaha event is this weekend in Vichy in central France where it joins the fourth round of the Jetcross European Tour.
