AquaX is the fastest growing personal watercraft championship in the world. Its rapid growth is owed to a simple, yet challenging race format that appeals to todays personal watercraft users.
This year the program will include the unveiling of a professional level race series and expansion of two further championships in the Great Lakes region of the USA and in Southeast Asia.

Azam Rangoonwala, P1 USA Managing Director said: “Chicago is a major international city, which deserves a top class event. The combination of the IJSBA National Championships and AquaX brings the very best of our sport together for an exciting weekend of racing”.
The National Closed Course Championships will take place alongside the second round of P1 AquaX USA Great Lake Series, providing the ultimate combo of high powered, adrenaline-packed personal watercraft action. The event starts on Friday 9th September with rider registration and technical inspections. But the serious action begins on Saturday morning when the racers head out onto Lake Michigan for the first of three races, in the hope of taking home one of the number 1 plates and a slice of the prize purse.
The IJSBA USA National Closed Course titles are the most sought-after in the sport. Racers would normally fight for the crown over a series of rounds, but this year P1 has won the rights to stage a winner takes all, one-off event.
“IJSBA has a policy that we do not produce events other than the World Finals. Therefore, we rely on our partner promoters to carry the bulk of racing”. explained Scott Frazier, the IJSBA Managing Director.
“IJSBA couldn’t ask for a better partner than P1 AquaX to carry the National Championship responsibilities in the United States. P1’s attention to detail, high productions standards, and unsurpassed professionalism set standards for racing which IJSBA is proud to govern”.
In addition to the racing program, the sport’s most spectacular class, the Pro Freestyle competition, is ready to attract the best in the business. Athletes have just two minutes impress the judges with their flips and tricks.
The premier classes will be broadcast in a 60-minute highlights show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Fox Sports Regional Networks in the USA and on international channels. But fans can catch all the action on the live stream from Saturday morning.
